What does it mean to be a disciple? It means “to be a follower”, especially a follower of Christ. The next question is, what does it mean to be a Follower? It means “a person who moves or travels behind someone or something”.

So here are some of the things that the Lord has been teaching me lately!

He has been teaching me what it looks like to walk in full abandonment, what it means to not have control over anything in my life.

1 Peter 5:6-7 says,” humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast ALL your anxiety on him because he cares for you”.

First of all, I want to say. In the verse it says, “ALL your anxiety”. With that in mind, I believe that there is a lot of times, when we go to the Father and ask him for something that we want. In a mindset that thinks we are in titled to something, and we forget that we are supposed a-line with his will. We don’t have the authority to live as we please, and still expect God to give us the things we desire.

Matthew 7:21 says, “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter”.

That is what the Lord has been teaching me lately. Do I ever get into a mindset of where, I think I’m in the will of The Father, that I have permission to ask him for something? But even if I ask him for something, deep down it still about, WHAT I WANT, WHAT I NEED, WHERE I WANT TO GO, and I think my biggest one lately has been. I WANT A FAMILY, SO EVENTUALLY YOU ARE TO HAVE TO BLESS ME WITH A FAMILY!

How often do we ask The Father what his will is in our life? Or do we just ask him once and he says something, so right away we’re like, HE WANTS us to do that right away? I know I’m quick to forget that a healthy seed takes time to be firmly rooted into the ground. It’s just the weeds that are quick to come up.

Are we willing to pour out everything at the feet of Jesus? Just as Mary did in John 12, even if it is a years worth of wages? Are we willing to actually have treasure in Heaven and not have any on the earth? Because things that are not eternal will not last.

““Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

??Matthew? ?6:19-21? ?

  1. Awesome thoughts, Jason! Keep pressing in. Ask, seek, and knock because he does not want to stop blessng you. He’s that good!
Stay strong and remember to breathe 🙂

  2. I’m reminded of James 4:3 which says, “You ask and you do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” I sometimes forget that a healthy seed takes time to be firmly rooted in the ground, too. Thanks for these reminders, Jason!!

  3. Jason, I love that the Lord is ever and always teaching us and is never done shaping and molding us. Thanks for your honesty and vulnerability here.

  4. Jason, the Lord hears the cry of your heart And is standing in the gap for your needs, wants and desires. We love you!
