What is the difference between Pajamas and armor????

Let me start with the pajamas. The Pajamas are comfortable, cozy, and just something that is a lot of fun to wear at home to make yourself feel warm and comfortable.

On the other side let me explain What the armor of God is. The armor is right what it sounds like, it is something that is heavy, uncomfortable, but also something that is very important if you what to go into battle, and fight for what is good.

So why wear armor if it is uncomfortable, and heavy???? If we can wear pajamas which includes snuggling up inside, staying warm & comfortable.

What does the Bible say about  Pajamas and Armor????

Thanks for asking, let me explain.

The first step is accepting Christ as your personal savior, so we can have the honor of having Christ bless us with the whole body armor of God. But it is up to us to decide if we want to wear the armor all the time or if we want to chance into Pajamas.

Ephesians 6 talks about putting the whole armor of God, which include 6 different pieces of the armor and they are all very important, and I’ll explain them to the best of my abilities.   The belt of truth, helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, and the sword of the spirit.

The belt of truth;   The belt is the most important, because what good are we going to be in a battle if we can’t keep our own pants on. Also you are no help to anyone if you can’t take care of yourself and keep your own pants on.  But not only does the belt keep your pants on ,but your belt also protects your future generations.
So if you can’t keep your pants on,( the truth of the Bible together) how do you expect your children and  grandchildren to believe the same as you, if you don’t and can’t share the real truth??

Next is the helmet of salvation;   We need to keep the helmet on at all times. No matter how uncomfortable it becomes,or how much fun your friends make of you because you don’t look like them. Because if we take the helmet off what happens ?? The enemy starts shooting things at your head ,and inside your head is your mind.  Where  you process everything that happens, and every choice is in your head
. So if your not wearing your helmet, how do you expect to stop the enemies and live a Christ-like life ??

Next is the Breastplate of righteousness;   This will protect the most important things in your body, heart, lungs, and other very important organs. The heart is the most important part of your business body. So you need to make sure your heart is in the right posture, and not on backwards.
If it’s not in the right place your belt will not hold it in place. How do you expect to protect the heart if your wearing the breastplate on your back ???

Shoes of peace;   Peace means to walk in,completeness, fulfillment, harmony, and secure.   The opposite of peace, restlessness, annoyance, and uneasiness.
To have total peace in God is to be ready and confident in yourself and God when the opportunity comes to share the word of God.
So want kind of shoes are you wearing or are you wearing anything???

Shield of faith:   Faith means to have complete trust. Psalm 46:10 says be still and know that I am God. Faith for me is giving everything to God all the time , and realizing I don’t have to worry about want going to happen to me and the world, because he is in control.
Are you going to be strong and hold a real shield up, or are you not going to worry about it and have a plastic one ????  If you do that you’re putting your whole armor at risk !!!

Sword of the spirit;   The sword is the most dangerous thing when it is sharpened and to keep the sword sharpened we need to be in the Bible and understanding the good God shares with us though the word.  Hebrew 4:12 says that the Bible is stronger then any double-edged sword.
So how much offense are we going to play (for Christ) or are we going to be fine with playing with the toy swords at home with our brother????
If we do that, a lot of times it turns into a real fight and someone will get hurt.

One more challenge for everyone;    Is the armor of God something you wear when you go to church, and maybe when you hang out with certain friends???? Or are you going to wear it all the time and even sleep in it, to make it stronger and more enduring?????
Please think about it, and realize if you are going to try to wear a costum all the time, it will eventually get put in the trash, but if you put on Gods armor everyday it will soon become easier to carry because of how much stronger you are becoming!!!

Thanking for reading what has been heavy on my heart lately!!!!
MUCH LOVE.     JASON

  1. Jason, You’ve given me some food for thought – some ways of considering the armor of God in Ephesians that I’ve never thought of before. Thanks for opening my eyes to new ways of looking at it. I’ll go back and read Ephesians 6 again and ask the Lord how I’m suppose to apply what you’ve taught me. I think I need to evaluate how I think about God’s armor and make sure I’m not treating it like a disposable costume, but am I becoming stronger because of the way I wear it? Good questions!

  2. Wow Jason, wat a good illustration of pants versus pajamas….I will always think of that when I cozy up in my pajamas and blanket??. Praise the Lord in every day life we can still wear pajamas even if our armor is in place?????? Love you and we are super proud of you….
